The South African Concierge Forum has achieved a landmark moment in its journey with an official invitation to join FEDHASA, the Federated Hospitality Association of South Africa. The invitation was extended by Gustav Pieterse, Chairman of FEDHASA Inland, which represents the hospitality sector across Gauteng, Free State, North West and Limpopo. This recognition marks a significant milestone for the concierge profession in South Africa, affirming its growing influence within the broader hospitality landscape.

In his role, Pieterse actively drives industry collaboration, advocacy, skills development and sustainable growth initiatives that strengthen the sector’s contribution to South Africa’s economy. By welcoming concierge representation into FEDHASA’s structures, the association acknowledges the evolving importance of concierges as guest experience specialists and key contributors to tourism excellence.

Representation within FEDHASA

Representing the Forum within FEDHASA Inland will be Masood Sadulla, a prestigious Golden Key Member and Chief Concierge and Guest Experience Manager at the Saxon Hotel, Villas & Spa. He will be joined by Deon Prinsloo and Kagisho Ditira, Founders of D&D Concierge Consultancy, who step into a representative role for hotel concierges within one of the country’s most established and influential hospitality bodies for the very first time.

FEDHASA’s legacy

Founded in 1949, FEDHASA has long served as the unified voice of South Africa’s hospitality industry. Its network spans hotels, guesthouses, restaurants and conference venues, with regional structures and national presence that play a pivotal role in advocacy, policy development, transformation and skills advancement.

Elevating the concierge profession

D&D Concierge Consultancy has been instrumental in elevating the standards and visibility of concierge services locally. Known for bespoke training, consulting and industry development initiatives, the consultancy works closely with hotels, luxury establishments and concierge professionals to enhance guest experience, operational excellence and service delivery.

“This invitation is not only an honour, but a meaningful step forward for the concierge community,” said Deon Prinsloo, Co‑Founder of D&D Concierge Consultancy. “Being recognised by FEDHASA affirms the vital role concierges play within the broader hospitality ecosystem and we look forward to contributing to industry growth, strengthening standards and ensuring a strong, unified voice for concierge professionals.”

Kagisho Ditira, Co‑Founder of D&D Concierge Consultancy, added:
